Awesome facts about the Oscar nominated south korean movie "Parasite"

"Parasite" is on its way to win more than one Oscar award; the south korean movie has made history and it looks like it will keep winning.

“Parasite” is a 2019 south Korean dark comedy thriller film directed by Bong Joon Ho, who also wrote the film’s story and co-wrote the screenplay with Ha Jin Won. The film stars Song Kang Ho, Lee Sun Kyun, Cho Yeo Jeong, Choi Woo Shik, Park So Dam and a cameo of Park Seo Joon. The story follows the members of a poor household scheming to become employees of a much wealthier family by posing as unrelated, highly qualified individuals.

The film premiered at the 2019 Cannes Festival and it became the first korean film to win the Palme d’Or and the first one to do so with a unanimous vote since 2013.

“Parasite” has received widespread acclaim from critics, some saying is the best movie of 2019. The film has grossed $148 million worldwide so far, becoming Bong’s highest-grossing release and the third highest-grossing film in South Korea.

We’re waiting to see “Parasite” win several Oscar nominations, as it’s nominated for best picture, best director, best international feature film, among other 3 categories.

We loved the movie and we want to share some fun facts about it; how it was made, how did the actors prepare for their roles and how it was the making of it.

"Parasite" had its world premiere at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Palme d'Or and it became the first korean film to recieve the award.

2. Oscar nominations.

The movie recieved 6 Oscar nominations for best picture, best production desging, best director, best foreign language film, best original screenplay and best film editing.

3. Park Seo Joon cameo.

Seo Joon plays the special role of Min Hyuk, a friend of the Kim's son Ki Woo. Seo Joon is famous for his starring roles in kdramas such as "She Was Pretty" and "What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?"

4. Original song.

Choi Woo Sik, who plays Ki Woo in the movie, recorded an original song for the soundtrack, "Soju One Glass". He writted the lyrics along with film composer Jung Jaeil.
