"Parasite" is on its way to win more than one Oscar award; the south korean movie has made history and it looks like it will keep winning.
“Parasite” is a 2019 south Korean dark comedy thriller film directed by Bong Joon Ho, who also wrote the film’s story and co-wrote the screenplay with Ha Jin Won. The film stars Song Kang Ho, Lee Sun Kyun, Cho Yeo Jeong, Choi Woo Shik, Park So Dam and a cameo of Park Seo Joon. The story follows the members of a poor household scheming to become employees of a much wealthier family by posing as unrelated, highly qualified individuals.
The film premiered at the 2019 Cannes Festival and it became the first korean film to win the Palme d’Or and the first one to do so with a unanimous vote since 2013.
“Parasite” has received widespread acclaim from critics, some saying is the best movie of 2019. The film has grossed $148 million worldwide so far, becoming Bong’s highest-grossing release and the third highest-grossing film in South Korea.
