The long-awaited sequel to "To all the boys I fell in love with" premiered and left us wanting to know much more about Lara Jean and Peter.
"To all the boys: PD I still love you" is the sequel to "To all the boys I fell in love with", which premiered in 2018 and managed to become a Netflix phenomenon by adapting the stories of the successful trilogy of Jenny Han and turn them into long-awaited and also successful stories on the streaming platform.
After the boom of "The Stand of the Kisses" in 2018 , "To all the boys I fell in love with" came to take the crown off and become the favorite youth romance movie on the internet, giving Lana's racing boost Condor , and above all, of Noah Centineo , who won the title of "internet boyfriend" , for his charm and appeal to play the adorable Peter Kavinsky .
This past February 12 , the expected sequel arrived; where we see Lara Jean in a conflict with her emotions and in a somewhat interesting love triangle, since Lara Jean is quite inexperienced in the things of love, and the 5 letters she wrote in the past for the boys who won her heart , still causing problems .
The problem with this sequel ... because there is a problem; is that the first part left very high expectations about romance, friendship, " villains " and the relationship that developed almost without wanting between Peter and Lara Jean , and in this second part, although we see Lara and Peter together and the emotion of the love triangle arrives, it seems that something is missing, what? Charm, more emotion, a little drama, justification ...
The film is not bad, and it complies with introducing us to a new character that comes to revolutionize the life of Lara Jean and her new relationship, but it seems that everything falls into the same and there is no well-marked climax that excites you or makes you melt of love as the first part did.
To have waited almost 2 years to launch, this sequel is very short and ends in something quite predictable without an extra that gives some flavor to the story or some originality to keep fans of the trilogy expectant so It will happen later.
However, there are adorable and cute scenes that are appreciated and make you return to the first movie to remind you that it is a sequel; We know more about the secondary favorite characters like Lucas and they present the most sensitive and touching side of what we thought was the villain .
We will have to wait another year to know what this story ends and if the outcome has something more exciting and fresh to offer, because this sequel ends and it seems that nothing more than a boyfriend fight happened, returning just to where the first part ended .
"To all the boys: PD I still love you" is available on Netflix as of February 12.
