"Little Women" is a new adaptation of the Louisa May Alcott classic that was first published in 1868, and has already had several adaptations to the big screen. This time, the film adaptation is in charge of director Greta Gerwig , who last year was recognized for her work in the direction and script of "Lady Bird" , a film that, like this one, also starred Saoirse Ronan , a Young actress who has also been recognized by the Academy for several Oscar nominations.

This classic story follows the life of the March , Amy , Jo , Beth and Meg sisters on their way from being teenagers to becoming women and choosing the path they want to follow, fighting for their dreams or doing what society dictates.

The cast is simply amazing, and we have young talents who have stood out in recent years for their impressive interpretive ability; Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson and Timotheé Chalamet, but also with an endorsement of great actresses who have been in this for years and give the perfect balance to the film: Meryl Streep and Laura Dern.

Critics have highlighted this adaptation for its freshness and for confirming the classic in a modern version but true to the history of May Alcott , creating an excellent balance in both history, giving the right time to both the love and the ideals you are looking for each one of the protagonists, and to treat other subjects, exposing all the dreams that a woman looks for, very apart from falling in love and marrying; a theme very well received today.

It is a touching and reflective film , but it also has the right balance of humor and romance , making a perfect formula for this classic drama that receives a very good update with this adaptation of Greta Gerwig , and that will surely take a couple of Oscars at the ceremony next to be held.

It is a must-see film in this season of awards , with a beautiful and emotional classic story like " Little Women ." This film is available in all cinemas as of January 24 and competes for 6 categories in the Oscar 2020 awards.
