The series based on the comic book of Gerard Way, vocalist of My Chemical Romance, is breaking schemes and conquering the fans of the superheroes.
"The Umbrella Academy" is a new Netflix series based on the comic book of the same name written by Gabriel Bá and Gerard Way , vocalist of the band My Chemical Romance. The series follows the lives of 6 children who were born the same day they were conceived and who have special abilities, so they were adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves , creating The Umbrella Academy . However, thanks to a not very close family environment, each one leads their lives separately, until they have to meet because Sir Reginald has died, but also, they discover that the apocalypse is coming and that they will have to join forces and get along for , practically, save the world.
The series has been praised since its premiere, and many fans are impatiently waiting for the announcement and premiere of a second season, as it takes just a few days of its release.
In a world where the superheroes of Marvel and DC Comics have crammed the big screen, a series of superheroes arrives with a refreshing, exciting tone and somewhat removed from the formula that has worked so much for Marvel, and the one that has tried to make it work DC Comics, because unlike the series that Marvel has released on Netflix (and that have recently been canceled), "The Umbrella Academy" has been very well received, becoming a resounding success and highlighting in its genre.
Although at the beginning it can be a bit slow , in which you are introduced to all the characters and they give you an explanation of how everything works , a couple of episodes will suffice to get hooked and fond of the characters; suffer with them, laugh with them and even identify with them despite being superpowerful beings .
The formula of the story is quite simple and even cliche : " superheroes who need to save the world ", but "The Umbrella Academy" does it in a way that seems innovative, exciting and brilliant, with unique characters and an atmosphere like maybe no another project of the genre has.
They are only 10 episodes , but they are enough to completely immerse you in this world and leave you wanting more. "The Umbrella Academy" debuts on Netflix from February 15 with a season of 10 episodes .
