"Beautiful Boy": The journey of a father through the addiction of his son
"Beautiful Boy" is a dramatic film starring Timotheé Chalamet and Steve Carell , where Nic ( Chalamet ) is a young man who after trying amphetamines at a party, falls into an uncontrollable addiction, so he will have to rehabilitate himself with the help of his mother, his stepmother and his father ( Carell ), who finds it very difficult to understand his son and how he happened to fall into that terrible addiction.
It is not at all surprising that Carell and Chalamet make such a sensitive and moving duo on screen, since both have been nominated for the Golden Globe and the Oscar, respectively , and that is only synonymous with how versatile and committed they can be when interpreting a paper.
The story is based on the memoirs of David Sheff and Nic Sheff , "Beautiful Boy: A Father's Journey Through His Son's Addiction" and "Tweak: Growing Up on Methamphetamines . " So what we can expect is an extremely moving story, heartbreaking at times, sensitive and complicated, which takes a tremendously sinuous journey of how a father suffers to see his son fight against an addiction and the yearning of a son to make proud his father, but at the same time fight against the impulses to relapse in the consumption of methamphetamines .
Timotheé Chalamet proves again that he can do any role, which can give depth and great sensitivity to his character, like Steve Carell , who teaches us that he can be a very versatile actor that goes from comedy to drama without any problem.
It is one of those stories full of heart that are unmissable and that can teach us a few life lessons, in addition to captivating us with the plot and actions that hook you from the beginning and do not let go, that keep you with some uncertainty of knowing how it will end this character: recovered and sober , or in a tragic ending .
"Beautiful Boy" debuts on the big screen in Mexico from March 8 and is available on Amazon Prime from October 12, 2018.
